"Hymns for People" Full Score

"Hymns for People," a five-movement choral cycle by Eva Kendrick, is a heart-felt, inspirational series of non-demoninational spiritual songs. All are scored for SATB & piano except for "Sharing Carol" which also has a chimes choir of at least five members. This piece was written for and dedicated to the First Parish Medfield Choir. "To D.R. in Holloway" is a haunting piece for SSAA chorus or quartet, with folk, choral and gospel influences. There is a soprano and an alto solo. This piece was commissioned by the Anthology a cappella quartet in Boston for their concert series, Voices of Protest and Unrest, and was recently performed at the International Alliance of Women in Music Congress 2011 in Flagstaff, Arizona. It was originally commissioned by Dinosaur Annex for the Young Composers Festival of 2009 and was performed by members of Dinosaur Annex and the Community Music Center of Boston wind ensemble. The piece received an Honorable Mention from the International Alliance of Women in Music New Music Search in the Judith Lang Zaimont category in 2010. "Have You Seen My Friend Mr. Snowman" is a song about a child looking for their snowman friend on a sunny day.
