October 19, 2008 Rialto Arts, Where Nature Takes Center Stage Brooks Auditorium Lincoln, MA ![]() ![]() Rialto Arts presented Buccaneers of Buzz, Celebrating Honeybees, an event which features a documentary about beekeepers, live performance, dance, and original music, including a commissioned work by Kendrick. Performers included Yuko Yoshikawa, marimba, Miranda Loud, mezzo-soprano, Brian Jones, and tapdancer, Karl Haas, percussion. This program was funded in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council and individual donors. The multimedia event included a hive demonstration, the concert, and a honey-tasting bee fair featuring local beekeepers. June 8, 2008 Wimberly Theatre Boston Center for the Arts Boston, MA ![]() In celebration of David Lapin, Executive Director of the Community Music Center of Boston's 25th anniversary, this concert featured works by the ensembles of the CMCB. Kendrick's piece "A Child Said, What Is the Grass" was commissioned in honor for David Lapin and featured the CMCB orchestra, children's chorus, adult chorus and soprano soloist Jennifer Ashe. May 21, 2008 Recital: William O'Neill, Bass-Baritone San Francisco Conservatory Hall San Francisco, CA ![]() William O'Neill performed works from standard opera literature to art songs and contemporary music at his recital for his B.M. in Vocal Performance. O'Neill premiered Kendrick's song cycle Debit Dude set to text by Boston poet Paul Turner. Other composers include J.S. Bach, Schubert, Rossini and Saint-Seans. April 20, 2008 First Parish Medfield Annual Music Sunday Medfield, MA ![]() This annual music service featured the First Parish Choir, the talented musicians of the church community, including soprano Greta Hill and tenor John Kornet. Pieces include a choral setting of "For the Beauty of the Earth" and other arrangements by Boston composer and choral conductor Chris Eastburn. April 10, 2008 John Kleshensky Concert Series Faculty Recital: Eva Kendrick, Yvonne Lee Allen Hall, Boston, MA ![]() Community Music Center of Boston faculty members Eva Kendrick and Yvonne Lee held a concert of new music. Kendrick's song cycle Shining set to poems by Kathleen Spivack was performed by Kendrick, soprano Noell Dorsey and pianist Steve Yenger, and Ms. Lee performed music by Landini and the premiere of a piece by herself. March 29, 2008 SWAN Day (Support Women Artists Now) RI Artists' Exchange Cranston, RI ![]() Songs from A Woman in the Garden were premiered by the new Boston-based a cappella quartet Anthology set to poems by Laurie Robertson-Lorant, who read from poems at the festival. SWAN Day RI is a local celebration of a new international holiday celebrating women artists in all mediums. On the first annual SWAN Day, 150 events were held throughout the world. March 23, 2008 ** WBUR In-Studio Performance 88.1 FM, Providence, RI Anne's Cordial was interviewed and performed live on the Brown University student radio program "Around the World," hosted by DJmadameb. They were interviewed about SWAN Day RI, a day-long festival that the band helped to organize and performed a few songs. Feb. 14, 2008 ** Twin River Casino Lincoln, RI Anne's Cordial performed with Spogga at a Valentine's Day concert. Feb. 10, 2008 ** Live/Whirled Series 2008 Perishable Theatre, Providence, RI Anne's Cordial performed a set with singer-songwriter Joe Auger as part of this series, hosted by Marilynn Mair, in which two groups each play a set then perform an improvisation with the audience. Feb. 2, 2008 ** North Street Coffee House First Parish of Medfield, Medfield, MA Dec, 22, 2007 ** Anne's Cordial at Zoo Lights Stone Zoo Lights, Stoneham, MA Dec. 6, 2007 Faculty Recital: Community Music Center Allen Hall, Boston, MA Eva performed a song cycle by Steve Yenger set to poems by e.e. Cummings. Also on the program was Eva's piece Nine Years, Two Miles, for flute and piano, performed by Steve Yenger and Fernando Brandao. Dec. 2, 2007 Home Is Where the Heart Is: Domestic Music of the 16th and 18th Centuries First Parish, Medfield, MA Eva and Jacob T. Stott, harpsichordist, performed European domestic music in this fundraising concert for First Parish Medfield. The program included works by J.S. Bach, John Blow, Thomas Campion, Caccini and more. June 10, 2007 ** All-Asia Bar Cambridge, MA May 14, 2007 Music of Liz Knight Pickman Hall, Cambridge, MA Longy School of Music student composer Liz Knight presented her masters recital. The program included chamber works, solo trumpet and cellos pieces, and "In My Family's Words," an a cappella song cycle sung by Nils Erickson and Eva Kendrick. May 13, 2007 First Parish Medfield Music Service First Parish Medfield, Medfield, MA As the music director of First Parish Medfield, Kendrick directed this annual music service which included solo organ pieces, soloists Becca and John Kornet, and a cameo by Kendrick's folk trio Anne's Cordial. May 6, 2007 Voices of the Spirit: Voices of New England Kendrick's piece "Famous" was included on this program of Boston-area composers, who also included John Howell Morrison, Chris Eastburn, Chris Montgomery and Frank Peri. Kendrick was also the soprano soloist for the concert. May 6, 2007 First Parish Needham Concert First Parish Needham, Needham, MA Kendrick's piece "Famous," for mixed adult and children's choir and string quartet was premiered at this concert, along with works by John Howell Morrison, Chris Eastburn, and Chris Montgomery.
